​The Hastings Neighbourhood Services is proudly deemed a 'Child Safe Organisation'. All our internal volunteers will be required to have or, be willing to:
  • obtain a NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • complete the Office of the Childrens Guardian (OCG) Child Safe eLearning​ Course

Admin & Reception

We currently have volunteer vacancies for Admin Assistants who are competent in data entry and have good communication skills. Some roles require Excel, Word or possibly social media knowledge. General office duties including shredding, filing and photocopying are also needed.  Days and hours differ between roles.

Our OOSH and Vacation Care Centre requires volunteer bus drivers to do the morning school run delivering our kids in care to their respective schools. We also need a driver to do the afternoon school run, collecting the kids from their schools and delivering them to our Centre in Boronia Street, Port Macquarie. There will always be an educator on board so you won't be responsible for looking after the kids, just the pickup and delivery.  No special drivers licence required.

Fundraiser Assistant

As a Volunteer Fundraiser you will be a valuable member of our volunteer team and help organise fundraising campaigns as required e.g. attending events to sell tickets, sausage sizzle days and putting up posters. You will gain practical experience in fund raising and will be responsible for fundraising efforts in the Port Macquarie local community and surrounding areas.  Days/time are flexible and can be negotiated to fit in with your lifestyle.

Bush Rejuvenation and Plant Propagation

As a Landcare volunteer, you’ll help restore natural areas, boost biodiversity, create habitats for wildlife, protect native flora and fauna, and improve ecosystem health. Wine Cellar Door

Local not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers since 1995 are looking for volunteers with an interest in history and wine to work in our historic Licensed Wine Cellar. If you enjoy talking to people, come and learn about our wines and vineyard history and share your knowledge with our visitors. Training will be provided in cellar work as well as maintaining stock levels, processing cash and eftpos sales for wine purchases. As our organisation is a Licensed Venue you will require a current RSA certificate or be willing to acquire one. Come and join our friendly and supportive volunteer team. Cellar shifts are available 9.00 am to 12.30 pm or 12.30 pm to 3.15 pm on Wednesdays, Saturdays or Sundays.

Vineyard Assistants

Local not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers since 1995 are looking for volunteers with an interest in history and wine to assist with the Vineyard operations. No experience necessary, we will train you.
If you have an interest in how a historic vineyard operates and like to get your hands dirty weeding, pruning, handling wires and planting, and don't mind some physical work then there is always something to do.

Retail Op Shop

Op shops are a well-established and much-loved part of the Aussie retail landscape. Aside from being an op-shop mecca for fans of all thing's quality and thrift, the shops generate revenue for a broad range of services supporting the community. They may also be a first point of contact for people seeking emergency assistance. As a retail volunteer, you will play a central role in the operations of the shop, making a significant and valuable contribution. There are various roles available; sorting and pricing donations; assisting with product display and processing sales through the Point of Sale (POS) cash register. No experience needed as in-store training is provided.

Op Shop - Driver/Offsider

The Driver and Offsider will perform a variety of tasks including providing customers with excellent service; load and unload donated goods and furniture for deliveries and pick-ups. The role will require you to be physically fit; have a current and valid Driver's licence; be a people person welcoming, and positive; be respectful of others and flexible in their attitude to work within the team.  No experience needed as training is provided.
