VOLUNTEER HQ & PARTNERSHIPS

Centre for Volunteering NSW Partnership 
Volunteer HQ and the Centre for Volunteering (CfV) NSW have entered a partnership agreement following a restructuring of Volunteer funding nationally. 
This partnership will provide real benefits for regional and metropolitan Volunteer Involving Organsations (VIO's) who will be able to access a range of policies and practices, training materials, videos, handbooks and many other resources utilising online tools. 
Does this mean that there is no need for local representation anymore? Absolutely not, it is important that our communities have access to local knowledge and face to face services. However, the expansion of materials now available to Volunteer Managers and Coordinators through this partnership can only be viewed as positive.

The Centre for Volunteering is a peak body in NSW promoting and supporting volunteering and community participation.
The Centre for Volunteering website contains a vast array of resources, tools and materials in the "Volunteering Resources Hub". The Volunteering Resources Hub brings together useful, evidence-based and current best practice resources, tools, research and information to support effective volunteer management.
The Volunteer Resources Hub has over 350 relevant and accessible resources. These resources provide essential information to effectively engage, manage and recognise volunteers."

“The National Strategy for Volunteering provides a blueprint for a reimagined future for volunteering in Australia.
The Department of Social Services (DSS) introduced the Volunteer Management Activity 5 (VMA5) to operate for the period 2021-2026.
The Centre for Volunteering (CfV) in NSW was appointed to deliver the new Volunteer Management Activity 5 and is partnering with Volunteer HQ in our region. The new plan will see:
  • a focus on the delivery of online services in volunteer management to improve the capacity of Volunteering Involving Organisations.
  • a breaking down of the barriers to volunteering for three priority groups, namely, People with Disabilities, First Nations People, and Newly Arrived Migrants.
  • increased service coverage across regional, rural and remote areas.”
