Tammy is passionate about empowering people with disabilities by providing essential information, linkages, and capacity-building opportunities. With 7 years of experience in Disability Employment Services and as the former National Disability Coordination Officer for Western NSW, she has witnessed the transformative power of tailored support and inclusive practices. Her mission is to create a more inclusive and accessible environment, ensuring that people with disabilities have the tools, resources, and connections they need to succeed in both employment and everyday life. Originally from Bathurst, Tammy moved to the beautiful Hastings area with her daughter in 2018 and is now proud to call the Mid North Coast (MNC) home. She loves exploring the region and going on adventures to enjoy everything this stunning area has to offer |
Meet Grace our Community Engagement Officer
Grace is an accredited Social Worker who has previous experience working within the Child Protection sector. Grace is a country girl who moved from Hay to Port Macquarie for a sea change and loves exploring rock pools and waterfalls. In her spare time Grace is either burying her head in a good book, fishing, or spending quality time on the beach with her two sausage dogs and partner. Grace is an enthusiastic advocate for the rights of vulnerable individuals and the importance of accessible services within the community |
Meet Libby our Support Worker based in Port
Libby has qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Counselling, Aged Care and Disability. Libby has worked in Family Day Care, Preschool, LDC, Supported playgroups, Lifeline, Community and Residential Aged Care, and individual support in disability. Libby lived in Port Macquarie as a young person and returned to the Hastings in 1999. Libby has two adult sons and two cats. Libby loves to read, sing, garden, swim and spend time at the beach and with friends. Meet Peter our Support Worker based in Lake Cathie
Peter moved to Port Macquarie in 2009 with his wife and three children. Peter is a jack of all trades having worked within the timber retail industry, for his family freight business, within the commercial leather products industry and has over 10 years’ experience in civil construction as a Formwork Carpenter. Peter has spent over 12 years working for a disability supported employment foundation in Port Macquarie and loves working with people to achieve their goals and become part of the local community. Peter spends his spare time with family and friends, surfing, bushwalking & gardening. Peter is a member of Salt Community Church & volunteers at the Bonny Hills Surf Club and Hastings Disabled Surfing Association |
Meet Stuey our Support Worker based in Wauchope
Stuey Brown, a dedicated new ILC support worker with a wealth of experience in various fields, including real estate, Centrelink, disability support, and his most recent role as a CSO Clinical Support Officer at Port Macquarie Base Hospital. As a proud father of three and a passionate member of the Port Macquarie community, Stuey is driven by a deep desire to help vulnerable individuals achieve their goals and feel a part of the Hastings community. Outside of his professional life, Stuey is actively involved in charitable initiatives such as plasma donation, supporting Save the Children, and participating in events like Father O’Riley’s Youth of the Street and Him in Heels. He also maintains a healthy work-life balance, staying active by raising his children while playing A-grade baseball. Stuey brings a compassionate, community-focused approach to his work as an ILC support worker, ready to make a positive impact. |
Meet Georgia our Support Worker based in Port
Georgia is an accredited social worker who has recently just finished her university degree. Georgia was born and raised in Port Macquarie. Georgia is a strong advocate for human rights and is passionate about empowering people whether that is through providing information, linking them into services or creating connections. Georgia wants to support people to achieve their goals and create a safe space to do so. In her spare time, she loves going to the beach, swimming in rock pools and snorkeling. Georgia also loves reading, playing hockey and spending time with her three dogs |
1. Grow Catch & Cook
The Grow Catch and Cook program will be facilitated out of the Lake Cathie Community Hub and Garden. This is an all-abilities program and welcomes individuals who may be experiencing mental health struggles, living with disability, experiencing social barriers or who just wants to learn some extra skills. Come and be part of our social crew where together we will: GROW - learn gardening techniques for composting to growing your own fresh produce. CATCH - learn fishing techniques and come and enjoy throwing in a line at our beautiful Lake Cathie followed by a BBQ lunch. COOK - Learn to cook nutritious meals from the produce of our Lake Cathie Community Garden. You will also have the chance to meet and be part of the passionate and friendly gardening community with lots of fun group activities along the way. |
2. Raising Warriors
Single Mums Support Program
The ILC team have partnered with Susie from High Vibe Healing to bring the Port Macquarie single mums' community a program that will focus on healing, support and health. This is a fully funded program that will run weekly starting in February. |
3. Empower Her
Empower Her is a women's wellness group that will be running once per week in Kendall. This is an all-abilities program and welcomes individuals who may be experiencing mental health struggles, living with disability, experiencing social barriers or who just wants to learn some extra skills. 4. Strength in Motion
All Abilities Pilates is the 4th ILC program being offered in Term 1 of 2025 and will be running out of the Wauchope Neighbourhood Centre weekly on a Monday from 12pm-1pm commencing on the 3rd February. The ILC team have been fortunate enough to partner with Gerry from Pilates with Gerry who will facilitate a 45 minute Pilates class each week that is completely FREE for all participants. There will also be space held each week after the class for participants to socialise and share some nutritious snacks. All you need to bring is yourself, a drink bottle and a willingness to learn - we will provide the rest This is an all abilities program that is open for anyone who may be experiencing mental health struggles, living with disability, supporting someone living with disability, experiencing social or physical barriers or anyone seeking extra 'me time' to work on their physical and social wellbeing. 5. Chill & Chat
Men's Social Group is coming to Wauchope Chill & Chat is a free program designed to be a safe space for men to come together, play some games, socialise and enjoy a cooked meal. This is an all-abilities program that is open for anyone who may be experiencing mental health struggles, living with disability, supporting someone living with disability, experiencing social or physical barriers or anyone seeking extra 'me time' to work on their physical and social wellbeing. Chill & Chat will run out of the Wauchope Neighbourhood Centre on a Wednesday evening from 5:30 - 6:30pm commencing the 12th February. Each week the group will discuss aspects of social wellbeing whilst enjoying fun games and activities such as darts, sticky golf, ping pong and more. |
6. The PC Hub ILC are excited to announce that we have partnered with Danielle and Ben at The PC Hub to bring the Port Macquarie community a program that uses PCs to build personal resilience, confidence, leadership skills and self awareness If you are an adult living with disability / experiencing mental health struggles or supporting a family member who is and would like to build on your social capacity and resilience whilst learning as you play both new and retro games - this is the program for you! The PC Hub program will commence Wednesday 5th February and will occur once a week for a total of 8 weeks. |
